Introducing a new employee benefit program

You may be visiting this site because your employer is sponsoring an employee benefit program called 125MAX, which is also referred to as a cafeteria plan or flexible spending arrangement. This plan allows eligible employees to receive non-taxed benefits in place of taxable wages.

Through the 125MAX plan, participants can pay group health-related insurance premiums, non-reimbursed or medical and/or dependent care expenses, with pre-tax dollars instead of after-tax dollars. Since group insurance premiums, medical expenses and dependent care expenses are considered separate benefits, you may choose to participate in any one or more of these benefit arrangements. It’s like a cafeteria of benefits.

Each year, you pay for certain qualified expenses for yourself and your family. With 125MAX, you direct a portion of your income through the 125MAX plan, and pay for those expenses with pre-tax dollars. Thus, you save the tax money you would normally have to pay on the income that you redirect through the plan (which is not subject to Federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare taxes, or State and applicable local taxes).

If your employer is not currently offering 125MAX, please share our web address with your human resources manager. We will be happy to provide any additional information about how your employer can increase your benefits and save taxes. More...
